Custom Mustang Paint & Finishing

Paint is the first thing anyone notices and the hardest thing to fake. We block a body dead straight, then lay down correct factory colors or a custom finish in a controlled booth.

The finish everyone judges the car by

Paint is the first thing people see and the last thing you can fake. A straight, deep, even finish tells everyone the car was done right. A wavy, thin, or mismatched one gives away a rushed job no matter how good the mechanicals are. We treat paint as the payoff for everything underneath it.

Most of the work happens before the color

A great paint job is mostly prep. We block-sand the body until it is dead straight, so there are no waves or low spots hiding under the shine. We seal and prime correctly, then spray in a controlled, filtered booth so dust and debris stay out of the finish.

You choose the look. We can match your Mustang’s correct factory color from the original paint code, including a period-correct single-stage finish, or mix a custom color that is yours alone. Either way, you see sprayed samples before the whole car is committed.

Cut, buffed, and even

Once the clear is down, we cut and buff the finish to a deep, even shine with no orange peel and consistent reflections from panel to panel. That final step is the difference between a car that looks painted and a car that looks finished.

Custom Mustang Paint & Finishing: your questions

How much does a quality Mustang paint job cost?

A show-quality paint job on a classic Mustang usually runs $12,000 to $35,000. The range comes from how much bodywork the car needs first, whether you want a correct factory color or a custom finish, and the level of finish. The paint is a small part of the cost. The prep underneath it is most of the work.

Why is a cheap paint job a bad idea on a classic?

Because paint only looks as good as the body under it. A cheap job skips the block-sanding and prep that make a body straight, so every wave and low spot shows in the reflection, and the finish fails early. On a classic Mustang you are paying for the days of prep, not the hours of spraying.

Can you match my original factory color?

Yes. We can spray your Mustang's correct factory color using the original paint code, including the correct single-stage look for a period-correct car, or mix a custom color if you want something of your own. We will show you sprayed samples before we commit the whole car.
